Are you ready to prepare your own butterflies? With more than 8 years of experience and hundreds of enthusiastic participants, we offer the only authentic butterfly preparation workshop in the Netherlands, Belgium, and Germany.
What can you expect?
In our unique, old biology-classroom-style workshop space, you will learn the art of butterfly mounting from the experts at Nature Deco. We have more than 8 years of experience and have prepared thousands of butterflies. During this 2.5 to 3-hour workshop, you will learn step by step how to mount 5 beautiful butterflies. This version of the workshop offers complete freedom in your choice: you create your own collection from the available assortment.
During this workshop, you will also learn how to rehydrate butterflies yourself using an injection technique. This makes the butterflies flexible again so they can be properly mounted. This part can be seen as an extension of our regular butterfly preparation workshop, but it is fully accessible to participants without experience.
You pay a starting fee of €45,- and then choose 5 unprepared butterflies from the collection (see unprepared butterflies on our website). These are charged separately. You receive a 10% discount on all selected unprepared butterflies based on the regular retail price. This way, you determine the look, size, and colors of your final piece yourself.
What will you learn?
Explanation of the different methods to prepare butterflies, after which you will inject your chosen butterflies yourself
Live demonstration of the techniques we use, including useful tips and tricks
After the explanation, you will start working yourself and mount 5 butterflies, with personal guidance from our experts
At the end of the workshop, you take your 5 butterflies home (still on the mounting board) and you will have all the knowledge needed to continue at home

Because larger butterflies were chosen in this example, an additional wide mounting board (€6.00) is required.

The final price of the workshop depends on your chosen butterflies.
